Sweet shop hates!

Saw a recent post about what you’d choose from a traditional sweet shop. Made me think!

What do you think is the WORST choice from a traditional sweet shop, in your opinion!

Nothing wrong with what people like or dislike - just a conversation starter, and I’m curious what common dislikes are!!

I’ll start - anything liquorice or aniseed!

Boiled sweets in general. I'm way too impatient to sit and suck something for half an hour, so it gets in instant crunch and then bits stuck in my teeth.

Flying saucers, as I can’t stand the texture of rice paper.

Agree on the aniseed
Also anything with desiccated coconut

Cola cubes, so grim. I love flying saucers.

Pear drops are vile. Flying saucers are gross. Cola cubes are gross

I loved sweet peanuts, saw some in a "Olde Worlde" sweet shop. Got some, Terrible.... so disappointed.

Any type of toffee - stuck in your teeth for hours afterwards.

I loved fruit salad chew but detest Black Jacks and am always angry that these are often sold in packs together. The flavours couldn't be more different so goodness knows who thought that was a good combo.

Same! I think i got them from the Trafford centre, but not 100% sure. They were really horrible! Childhood memories ruined! 😆

Liquorice. Who eats that shit? Bloody awful.
I used to like going in Auntie Nelly’s sweet shop in Dublin but I got some foam dolphins once and they were musty! God knows how long there were sitting there.

Parma Violets. Like crunching on bath cubes.

Flying saucers,liquorice,toffee flavour lollipops,pink strawberry chocolate,caramac 70s,gobstoppers.

My big hate is a foam banana 🤢

Although I love liquorice and black jacks! Less keen on a fruit salad.

and they mushroom things with coconut on them

I bloody love parma violets and might need to go get some today! Same with flying saucers my sister hates the rice paper part so we used to share them if she got them in a mixture…as in I’d eat the paper bit and give her the sherbet 😂

I get this rage about shrimps and bananas! Love shrimps, hate bananas.

Hate those boiled sweets that you suck for two minutes to reveal razor blade edges which take all the skin off the roof of your mouth. And sherbet lemons. And anything liquorice/aniseed flavoured. And anything fizzy. Toffees that are too chewy and remove your fillings.

Basically half a pound of fudge and some foam prawns and I'm good.

I thought it was just me! They are horrible.

Flying saucers or that edible paper horrible texture. I do however love liquorice and aniseed!

@daffodilandtulip I love shrimps and bananas. Got 2 mixed bags from Tesco last week and there was one measly shrimp in each bag and the rest was all bananas 😅.
Just as well I like them both equally.

I did like a chocolate banana but the firm kind not the squishy foam .

I used to love rosy apple sweets but they made your mouth so sore
