Hate it - it's the aniseed component that does me in. And before people come for me... yes I KNOW, not ALL liquorice!

Yep, I reckon I could eat a lot of allsorts. Chocolate not so much. Unpopular opinion but there you are.

Allsorts are much more tasty than chocolate IMO.

Love it. Any sort, but especially Dutch soft liquorices and their hard salt liquorice. How did they get it so right compared with everyone else?

Has anyone tried making it?

Lakrids by Johan Bülow are my kryptonite. Once I start I lose all will or ability to stop

Also love liquorice toffee

Soestrene Greene have lovely Finnish licorice pinwheels for less than £2. They're yummy. I believe the Finns take licorice seriously.

Liquorice stuffed with mint fondant or lemon sherbet. Fruit liquorice. Soft brown liquorice. Hard salty diamonds. Yes, liquorice toffees and dropjes. Liquorice fudge, too.

Why aren't there liquorice aisles in the supermarkets? Lovely lovely stuff.

Love it! Not a fan of all-sorts, but in the country where I'm from it's used a lot more creatively.
I love basic Haribo liquorice pinwheels and liquorice strings (black ones, not red). I'm also a fan of liquorice gelato (paired with lemon, refreshing and delicious!).
There's also a type of ice lolly I adore: Lemon sherbet, on a stick of liquorice. You have your lemony lolly and finish off by munching on the stick 😋I Found it once in the UK, years ago, then never again.
Finally, a childhood staple: Liquorice straws (as in drinking straw, with an empty centre). Much longer and floppier than a standard straw, you'd use them to drink your lemonade, taking a bite off now and then. Once you finish off your lemonade, you much on the straw. Really hard to find nowadays, but very fondly remembered by my father's generation.
