I'm looking at this as a Christmas present option and would love to hear your experiences both good and bad.

Thanks.

We had a bacon one for a couple of years but got bored with it in the end. It was good quality though.

I'm glad you had a good experience. Which company did you use please?

Cure and Simple. It was a good few years ago now though. We sometimes buy one off meat boxes from Donald Russell which are very good but not sure if they do subscriptions.

I have been really impressed with Field and Flower. The meat is really good quality and I think the price is reasonable given the high welfare standards.

We use Abel and Cole and it is very nice and a nice treat on a Monday. you can really taste the quality difference and I like trusting where it comes from. Also the beef is pasture fed and there's often venison, which I like as its lean.

Might try the above voucher though!

That's another good point, we use Riverford veg boxes and on the odd occasion we've ordered meat the quality has been excellent.

I switched from abel and cole meat to Field and Flower and actually prefer the latter and think their meat has more flavour. I still use Abel and Cole for veg though.

We used Field and Flower for about three years and they were generally very good. I only stopped because they don’t sell any organic meat. I’ve used Eversfield many times and the quality of their meat is really good. I’ve tried the meat from Riverford and some of it was dreadful, as was their customer service. My mum used to swear by Donald Russell.

Sunflower2461 · 06/03/2026 08:46

I am still using Field and Flower as the meat is so tasty, and for me high welfare and free range are the most important factors. I tried Abel and Cole for a while but did not think there meat was such good quality (despite being organic) and it was over 2x the price.

If you want to try it, this code gives a £25 discount on a subscription box of £50. You can easily cancel after the 1st month if you decide it is not for you.
