Would you use 1 day out date beef joint?

Expired yesterday, dh was meant to stick in the slow cooker last night but forgot. 🙄
It smells fine and isnt brown, is it okay to put in the slow cooker this morning & eat tonight?

Of course, you know those dates are the biggest scam going. Can't believe anyone pays attention to them. We eat stuff weeks past the "date".
