So I ordered a pack of Tim Tams on my Tesco order. It got substituted for another variety of Tim Tam…. But this is what I got! (Driver confirmed I ordered one pack and said we were fine to keep them).

What’s been your favourite?

A few weeks ago I got steak instead of chicken.

This week they've substituted my Friday delivery for a Saturday one!

I found some dark Timtams reduced to 79p in Farmfoods the other day. Bought a packet. The use by date is November 2025 on the packet.

Have you checked the use by date? Tesco may be wanting to get rid them because they are short dated.

Unfortunately, the biscuits aren't very nice. There is a slightly synthetic taste to them. Once I use these up, I will not buy the dark variety again. Penguin biscuits are better!

I agree that they aren't very nice. They are sickly sweet. Getting several packets instead of one would not be a win for me.

However, Choco Liebniz is another matter.

It reminds me of my 'great brie delivery'. I ordered two pieces, they delivered 2Kg.

My carer took the delivery so it wasn't until he came out of the kitchen and asked me where it should go.

CalzoneOnLegs · 18/10/2025 09:10

@sashh what did you do with a 2kg brie ? 🧀

ExpatForLife · 18/10/2025 09:14

Ordered chocolate milk. Got banana milk. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

I don’t very often order from Waitrose but fancied a change the other week. I ordered an easy to cook lamb joint in a sauce for about £13. Ummed and ahhed because of the cost but thought sod it, go for it for a change.
They substituted it for a different butterflied lamb joint but that was just over £20. Looked on my receipt and they hadn’t price matched and had charged me the £20.
I rang their customer services, hoping to be refunded the extra £7 but they refunded the whole £20! Great service.

I asked on here of course. I The first answer was to eat it.

I think most went in tot he freezer and was used gradually over a couple of months.

Cate Blanchett rubbed the lamp. The genie asked “what would you like out of anything in the world?” She replied “ a packet of TimTams that never runs out”.

I got a £20.00 bottle of wine instead of a £5.00 ( this was a few years ago) one from Waitrose. It was a Pinot Noir from a local niche vineyard. Ooh I thought I’ll keep it for Christmas lunch! It was awful, thin and no fruity or even anything taste! Luckily we had more wine available.

Sending lamb and chicken curries instead of vegetarian ones, and meat feast pizza instead of margarita used to be Tesco's genius move. I swapped to Sainsbury's who aren't quite as clueless.

Yesterday we got 3 punnets of blueberries, a large chicken, two bottles of rosé and some other bits, none of which I'd ordered. I saw DH putting it away and managed to catch the delivery driver to take it back - he'd accidentally given us someone's else's crate.

I'm a Waitrose shopper and have had some amazing substitutions over the years, definitely quids in.

But I'm reminded of the early days of online shopping when I ordered a lemon and was substituted with lemon floor cleaner 😂

End of November. Plenty of time to get them eaten.

Personally, I like Tim Tams!

This would be DDs idea of heaven, as long as she can bake it!

I bought some Leibniz for a meeting this week. Everyone greeted them as if they’d won the lottery. They went down very well indeed.

We had that once, got a whole tray of beer I didn’t order!
