Slow Cooker Help

I have the swan retro style slow cooker, with low, high, and auto settings.

I’ve barely used it and not when I’ve been out the house all day.

I want to use it tomorrow to make a curry. The recipe states cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for at least 6 hours.

But I’ll be out of the house for 8 hours. Two extra hours seems a lot.

So what do I do? Technically I could pop home at lunch and stick it on high, but I’d rather not, obviously!

Thanks.

I have the smallest size of that one and found it runs quite hot.

Have you got a timer plug

Depends what meat as well, can you put the meat in frozen or have you defrosted it/its not frozen?

It will be fine for 8 hours. I always put mine on medium and leave for 10 hours sometimes! My low setting is just keep warm so never use that to actually cook. Slow cookers are pretty forgiving but if you are worried you could use one of those timer plugs to get it to
come on at lunchtime.

It’s chicken and not frozen.

Mine doesn’t have a medium, and I’m not really sure what auto is for.
