Panasonic breadmaker, anyone got one?

I got one in great condition off Facebook marketplace and have been using it regularly, but have noticed a few scratches appear in the non-stick bread pan. I'm concerned now that there are toxic non-stick particles being mixed up in my bread! Mine is a SD-2501 model which is no longer available so I can't replace the pan easily. Has anyone else had this happen and should I ignore or stop using it?

Yes, I have one, and without looking it up I think mines the same model. I have bought a replacement pan and paddle so they are definitely available on eBay. But you are right - the non-stick is extremely easily scratched, and I worry about it too.

You could approach Panasonic, they might have spare parts.
Tell them how wonderful it is, really butter them up, & you might get a free part.

I would really not worry about such tiny contamination. It would not be food safe if it was so toxic that a tiny scratch would release a dangerous dose.

Worse things for you: worrying too much, wasting a perfectly good bread pan, stopping eating healthy home made bread.

Sorry if that was a flippant answer, I know some people are extra careful about non stick , apparently there is a campaign to get Panasonic to improve the pans. I've had my bread maker over 10 years and it doesn't have significant scratches, maybe the newer ones have a worse coating?

@NotMeNoNo no worries, sometimes a sense check is needed! I think the quality of the non stick varies with models. It’s very annoying as otherwise I can’t fault the machine and the bread!

You can get replacements for all parts on Ebay.
