Help me understand the appeal of air fryers

I've never had one. I've never felt like I needed one as everything that can be cooked in an air fryer, I can already cook in the oven or in a pan. Are they really healthier or cheaper? What makes them so popular?

I have two air fryers. I use the Tefal one for cooking chips as it has an arm that stirs the food around so chips are perfect.

I only use the oven for pizzas or at Christmas when you need to cook several dishes at once.

I even use my 7ltr pan air fryer to cook a large roast chicken every week. It’s much easier to clean out than the oven so that’s a big bonus!
