Slow cooker size?

I'm looking to invest in a slow cooker but I have a tiny kitchen so want one without a huge footprint. Is a 3.5 L one enough? We are currently 2 adults, a pre-schooler and a baby on the way so thinking ahead it should be big enough to feed us and the children when they get a bit older too. I don't usually batch cook so I don't need leftovers to freeze. Any recommendations for a good one which is not too big?

They usually last for years, so if you've got the storage space, I'd get a big 6.5 litre one now, ready for when the kids get older.

I made a chicken casserole today in our 3.5 litre slow cooker. Enough for three adults and leftovers for two. When I had three dc at home we had a 6.5 litre as I would often be cooking for my dad too so three adults and three dc.

We had a ceramic 6.5 and recycled it, as it was far too big. Media size is fine, o think. Although I barely use mine.
