Frozen Meat in Slow Cooker

Hi, apologies if this sounds like a silly question. I already cook curries in the slow cooker using Iceland frozen diced lamb.

i’ve got some frozen Chicken portions in the freezer and was wondering if it would be possible to just throw them in the slow cooker with a jar of sauce first thing n the morning. I’m thinking about doing this in serious no time days, when come home early evening absolutely dog this red with no energy to cook. Does anyone else do this?

No, I,ve never used frozen products in the SC, especially meat. It should be thoroughly defrosted. Can't you just shove the chicken in the microwave and defrost it while you are getting ready for work in the morning? It doesn't take long.

On a slow cooker I wouldn’t as it wouldn’t heat through enough. A pressure cooker yes.

I use frozen meat and chicken sometimes - no problems.

The heat in a slow cooker builds up over the hours and reaches simmering point so the meat does get hot enough.

I might risk it if it was re-cut into small places, but not with bigger bits like a whole breast/leg. I know it's another job but you need to take it out the night before.
