Butternut squash: Cook and then peel, or peel and then cook?

your best tips for this please, was just going to roast it and serve with pasta and broccoli and a light sauce.

ages since i cooked one though

If you're going to roast it it really doesn't matter, if you cook it with the skin on it's easy to just scoop out the flesh, but if you want nice neat chunks of it then peel it before cooking and cut up raw.

Unless I'm roasting it just cut in half I tend to peel it raw.

When I did it for the kids when small I would peel first and then cook. I either mashed or roasted it.

I don't peel it unless for kids, wash, chop, roast. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

thank you ! i actually posted this question twice by mistake, so tahnk you .. i roasted it for just under an hour, left it to cool a bit, and it peeled really easily. i diced it and it was great in the pasta dish xx
