I need to use up some sossies but I'm not shopping until tomorrow and I've no potatoes in and pretty much no veg either.

I've got masses of store cupboard stuff.
Eggs
Lentils
Pasta
Rice
Tinned toms / beans etc

Oh, and I'm veggie and dp isn't, so whatever I do I'll be doing twice, once with veggie sausages and once with dead pig.

Some sort of sausagey pasta bake? Or a sausage and bean casserole? How? Help!

1 tim of tomato soup

2 tins of chopped tomatoes

loads of cheese

my lot love this!

witchandchips · 03/06/2008 12:29

do you have tinned pulses (or just baked beans)
if so make a thick veggie gravy with onions and wine etc. Drain couple of tins of beans and heat through. Serve with veggie and meat sausages and some pittas/toast for mopping up of juices

BroccoliSpears · 03/06/2008 12:30

What is toad in the hole?

How do you make Cassoulet?

Nailpolish - that sounds like a winner.

Oh yes, have lots of onions.

Cazboldy - do you chop up the sausages in the pasta?

Toad in the hole is like a giant Yorkshire pudding with sausages in it.

cazboldy · 03/06/2008 12:33

Yes chop them up

EffiePerine · 03/06/2008 12:35

with toad in the hole, could you get away with a veggie side and a meat side? Or do you not like veg and meat in the same dish?

BroccoliSpears · 03/06/2008 12:45

A giant yorkshire pudding with sausages in it does not sound delicious. I am unconvinced.

I think I'll go with naily's idea. Sounds easy and tasty.

mine love sausage pasta with loads of cheese and mayo mixed in too if not using tin of tomatoes

bellavita · 03/06/2008 12:47

Toad in the hole without a doubt with some lovely onion gravy.

toad in the hole - yummy!

claireybee · 03/06/2008 13:35

I do exactly the same as naily, in fact we are having it for dinner tonight

BroccoliSpears · 03/06/2008 19:55

That was DELICIOUS!

I sweated an onion with the browning sausages and added butter beans and green and black lentils, as well as tinned toms and some stock. Cooked it for aaaaages and served with rice. The whole family loved it. Definitely a new one for the repetoire.

WeightWatchers have a fantastic sausage & lentil casserole that is delish! Fry onion & garlic, add Puy lentils (doesn't work at all with other varities), chopped tinned tomatoes and beef stock and simmer away.

Chopped sausages and peas with penne pasta is another fave here.

claireybee · 04/06/2008 13:38

Ididn't get to have mine
The lid of my pyrex dish shattered in the oven and filled the whole thing with glass
