Gluten free bread recipe for bread maker, low sugar?

I regularly make gluten free bread in my bread maker using the recipe on the back of the gluten free bread flour by Freee packet. I find it delicious, however it has a lot of sugar in it - 3 tablespoons for a large loaf. Does anyone know of a bread maker recipe that uses less sugar?

Becky Excell’s recipes are always brilliant. Here’s her bread maker loaf recipe. It uses 2tbspn sugar.

I’d also try reducing the sugar in your current recipe to 2tbspn and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it’s the same amount of sugar - my loaf uses 750g of flour, her recipe uses only 450g, so it’s a pretty similar ratio of sugar. But thanks!

I tend to use honey instead of sugar

Ah! Perhaps the yeast needs that much sugar to activate in the bread maker!

This is the recipe from my bread maker manual - never made it so not sure what it’s like

Thanks, I could try that, I’m not sure how much honey to use, though.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I see it uses mainly potato, I already eat a lot of potato, and something that I like about the gluten free flour is it has different grains in and makes for a more varied diet.
