Hi,
I’d like to cook this in the slow cooker and then slice for sandwiches. Any foolproof recipes?

I always do a similar honey and mustard glaze to the one above. I always do mine in the slow cooker but boil it first in a pot water and then chuck the water away to get rid of the salt.

I then either cook it two ways in the slow cooker. One way is the nigella coke recipe with is just an onion quartered and full fat coke in the slow cooker. I don't use her glaze but will do honey mustard one and finish it off in the oven. Another way I do it is to roughly chop an onion, two carrots, two sticks of celery and some peppercorns, put in the slow cooker with the ham and top up with water and slow cook for 6 hours or so and then finish off with a honey and mustard glaze too.

Mary Berry's gammon recipe ( serves 10, i think) but can be adapted for smaller.
Never fails...does that joint have a layer of fat?
( From Mary Berry's New Aga Cookbook) sorry, I couldn't link to recipe.

As that’s a smoked one, you need to soak it over night or bring to the boil in a saucepan first to take some of the salt out (adding a potato helps this !)

remove from water and put into slow cooke (throw water away), add a carrot/onion/celery what ever you like really rough chopped, some mixed herbs and cover half way with water from the kettle. Cook on high for about 5 hours r so. Remove from slow cooker and Chuck in a bag of dried yellow split peas and leave in slow cooker for another 4 or 5 hours . I tend to do the ham for dinner serve hot so cooked for about 6 then turn the slow cooker off before I go to bed about 10ish.

we like to honey mustard glaze the ham, so mix a little honey and mustard together and paint over cooked ham (remove the sleeve st this point), I then pour a small glass of apple juice on as well. Air fryer for about 20 minutes or oven for 30-40 until it looks nice tbh. The liquid from roasting should be saved.

once the split peas are nice and soft Add the roasting juices and blitz in a liquidiser or with a wand - we love the peas and ham soup and when you thing some split peas are what 80p ? Makes a good cheap meal and freezes well. You can thin it down with a little water or some milk if you like it thinner.

you can of course speed the soup up by soaking the peas first or cooking it in a saucepan. But I’ve done the slow cooker method for years and years
