Tinned Pears ???

.... where can I find them ? Everywhere I look there is tinned pineapple, mandarins, grapefruit even rhubarb but no pears

I don't want fresh ones - I was going to get the tinned ones to do a recipe for my DH who loves pears - I detest them

@CalzoneOnLegs @cherrytree12345 it is such a pity about gooseberries. I saw them once or twice a few years ago in Waitrose. For me they are very nostalgic as I have memories of picking them Europe when I was very little in the late 70. I also get really excited about red currants, which are more readily available now - at least in London. There are so many fruit and vegetables that are almost impossible to buy.

Order online?

Heyhelga · 25/08/2025 15:48

Don't know. I just always presumed they are still a supermarket staple but now you've said it I've not had any for ages.

@Newmeagain agreed, they are ‘old fashioned’ fruits aren’t they like greengages, it’s all about the blueberries now, also blackberries are available seasonally but they are so expensive though frozen ones are good for puddings.
