So tomorrow lunch picnic on beach.

At night, staying in...got a selection of cheese, grapes, crackers...what else can I do with it...seems like similar to beach food in day.

There's a small local shop could grab a few bits from but not sure what. Feel like should do something hot

Olives, chutneys, dates, nuts, BUTTER, honey, cucumber, tomatoes that you dont put in the fridge. Loads more things

Eggybreadwithnuts · 24/08/2025 22:21

Toms and cucumber could add...thinking something hot on the side

Depends which country you’re in? If abroad I’d choose local foods, as they’ll be cheaper and tastier!

PrincessOfPreschool · 24/08/2025 22:30

Can you get cold meats? Those oven breads you can bake with butter and tuna/ toms/ olives. Sausages? Chorizo frittata?

soupyspoon · 24/08/2025 22:33

Oh god all of this.

This is turning into a banquet.

Make burgers with grilled/ fried halloumi topped with some of those charred red peppers in a jar
I was going to say baked camembert , but see thats been said .
How about a quick frittata or crustless quiche ( oven proof frying pan , fry an onion till soft , add pancetta , mix an egg per person , plus one extra, add to pan . Let the bottom set a bit , grate some cheese on top , then pop in the oven for 15 minutes

Or a Spanish tortilla, if in the uk just buy all of the m&s 3 for £8 bits.

If you want hot, how about a baked Brie or Camembert? With baguette or toasted pita for dipping.
