Best silicone or plastic replacement for 'metal spoon for folding in flour'

I have metal mixing bowls on my stand mixer and sometimes I need to fold something in with a metal spoon (it says in the recipe) so I take the bowl off and stir in whatever needs doing rather than use the attachments.

But I dont like to use metal with my metal bowls, dont like the sound of it and dont want them scratched

But my silicone spatula is fat and too thick. And actually I dont really like the feel of silicone but for the sake of argument I suppose thats what Im looking for, or good old plastic

I had a nice thin spatula once but the handle had a silicon coating that was starting to peel off into my food so it got binned.

Has anyone got something that Im looking for, OR - would you experienced cooks say that a metal spoon is the only thing to use for instructions like that? Is there some reason why it has to be a metal spoon? It usually says the same for egg whites too.

For egg whites it does have to be metal, yes. Any fat that gets in when you're folding stuff into egg whites causes the little bubbles in your lovely fluffy egg whites to pop and makes your mixture lose volume/gain density. Plastic, silicone, etc spoons cling onto traces of fat, whilst metal doesn't. For egg whites, you also need a metal or glazed ceramic bowl.
