I am so F*cking Sick of Cooking

I can totally understand why some families out there choose chips with everything, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, turkey twizzlers and burgers every night of the week.
I was brought up on meat/fish and veg and weekends were a kinda of junk food days and I have followed suit.
Lately, I feel I cannot be arsed to cook as the kids are so bl**dy inconsistant.
One week they eat good, the next they survive on fresh air.
One week pasta will be devoured, the following week they swear they've never eaten the stuff.
DS5 eats a variety of dishes at school but says its only because the supervisors force him.
DS2 starts spitting out food after the 3rd mouthfull.
DH is not much better, uses the 'I had a big lunch' routine.
I'm the only one in the house that eats.
Before you think I must be a shite cook, I can assure you I am not. My extended family and friends rave about my cooking.
So what do I do, trade fresh turkey for turkey twizzlers?

I would do smaller portions and not serve until they are famished!

Just chop up an array of raw vegs and fruit and cheese, dried fruit, nuts and serve with bread or plain pasta, let them choose what they want and retire to a corner with a glass of wine and a serene expression.
Don't say anything along the lines of 'eat up now' and never serve dessert, ever.

Save the good cooking for when they are older, how old are they? (I don't really believe that's a good idea tho) or only do it at the weekends.

Or batch cook, so it's just a question of defrosting stuff, and then you don't feel you've slaved over it so much (like when babies are being weaned).

i feel like this too today, i'm so fecking fed up of wasting food!!

i'm all in favour of some of that chewing gum from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - 3 course meal in one and no washing up

I wish I could just inject the vitamins in. Feel the same, batch cook and freeze is definitely easier.

Give yourself a weeks break - batch cook in preparation or buy ready meals or get takeouts if you morals/budget allows and just don't cook for a week. SIL gave me this advice and its great. A "lighter" alternative that I plan next week is batch cook for kids in advance and DH get salads all week.
