Has anyone tried the jars of Bold Beans with their kids? Do you think they are worth the quality?

Thanks!

I’m guessing you mean is the quality worth the price?

Yes, definitely. They seem almost cheap for what you get - particularly as they’re very often reduced in price.

Interestingly they appear to source their beans from

Hodmedods

which is where I get all my dried beans and pulses from. Soaking and cooking beans from scratch is much more satisfying, I find, but not something I want to do in the middle of a heatwave. So I’ve been ordering Bold Beans - chickpeas, carlin peas, butter beans, red peas - on repeat since the start of spring.

As to whether they’ll find favour with children, I guess that depends on a combination of household eating culture / how they’re presented / individual preference.

Hodmedod's Wholefoods

Hodmedod works with farmers to provide pulses, grains, seed & more from fair and sustainable production, primarily British, organic where possible. We supply dried & canned beans & peas, quinoa, pulse & quinoa flour, fermented bean paste, roasted pulse...

I think they’re worth the money. Their giant chickpeas and giant butter beans are lovely.

For things where beans are the star, yes. I had their kidney beans in a salad recently and I went to it with some skepticism because kidney beans are mid tier to me anyway so I wasn’t sure they’d be worth it but they really were. But they worth it depends on your budget and preferences, and appetite to soak and boil your own beans.

Enjoyed the butter beans recently- bought on offer and would buy them at that price again for a dish where the pulses are the main event (I had them just in vinaigrette)
