Peanut Butter

Can anyone recommend a really good crunchy peanut butter? For ages we loved the Deliciously Ella brand but it seems to have been discontinued in shops and on her website. Looking for a similar alternative!

Pip & Nut? No nasties, super crunchy!

Helpmechooseausername · 15/07/2025 16:10

Pip and nut sweet and salty is the best ever!!

Newyeargymwanker · 15/07/2025 16:11

Aldi do a 100% peanut butter? It’s in a 1kg tub though

GlobalCitz · 15/07/2025 16:12

I don't know if you'd be interested, but if you own a food processor or a nutribullet it takes 5ms to make your own and you can costumise it exactly as you want.

Buy ready roasted peanuts (or toast your own)
Blitz
Add honey and salt to taste (or not)

Done

We've just switched to pip and nut as we wanted one that was palm oil free . Really lovely . We also tried lidl own brand 100 % peanut butter , palm oil free but DH ends up adding salt to it as it doesn't contain salt or sugar but still really good.

Lidl do a nice 100% peanuts peanut butter.

EssentialDecluttering · 15/07/2025 16:16

Pip and Nut gets my votes, we buy the big tubs from Costco but it is in most supermarkets

NannyR · 15/07/2025 16:16

Manilife dark roasted crunchy peanut butter is delicious - it was on clubcard price at Tesco the other week too.

DrAmanitaPhalloides · 15/07/2025 16:16

Pip & Nut as suggested.

Als recommend Whole Earthy if u really want crunchy...available in supermarkets as well as Holland & Barrett. I have it nearly everyday with chopped apple and it's delicious.

I love pip n nut crunchy, not a big fan of the sweet n salty but the original crunchy is delicious. It does need a really really good stir first use then it’s good from that point on.

Has anyone made it in a Nutribullet? The online recipe includes coconut oil, which I don’t want.

I make mine in a food processor but pretty sure it would work in the nutribullet - you'd probably have to scrape and mix a few times though.

I've never seen a recipe calling for added oils and there's really no need, the peanuts themselves release oil. Only thing I've ever added is Maldon salt and a dash of hone

soupyspoon · 19/07/2025 21:03

Alid and Lidl both do versions in normal sized jars with nothing else in but nuts, perhaps salt now that I think about it. I like salt and sugar in mine

I think I made it in a normal processor some years ago but I found it gets claggy and a nuisance, you dont need to add any oil at all.

UnaOfStormhold · 19/07/2025 21:09

Do try one of the darker/richer roast types - they're a whole different flavour level compared to normal PB, which I find can be a bit bland without added salt/sugar. I like the meridian richer roast crunchy best, does need a bit of stirring as it's pure peanuts with nothing added.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 19/07/2025 21:18

Thank you @GlobalCitz

Doje · 19/07/2025 22:16

Morrisons do a 100% peanut one. Helluva lot cheaper than the Deliciously Ella one at £1.80.

TaborlinTheGreat · 19/07/2025 22:23

My favourite was Proper Tasty... until I tried Manilife dark roast!

soupyspoon · 19/07/2025 22:29

Most supermarkets do only peanut ones, with nothing added you dont need to pay a fortune with these expensive brands

soupyspoon · 19/07/2025 22:30

And this thead has caused me to get up, eat some spoonfuls of peanut butter AND have 2 of those Reeces cup things that although I eat them, make me feel sick.
