I buy a 2kg chicken from butcher and that does 2 adults and 3 children with a leg left.
We do generous portions.

I would buy a single god sized turky crown/joint actually.

I think that 2 or the large ones will be plenty. And will give leftovers.

I think of a leg or breast a (generous) portion.

With 2 chickens you have 8 portions. That assumes that someone will be happy with leg.

Thanks all. Did 2 big birds - we stuffed ourselves and still consumed less than 1.5 - but 1 would definitely have been very stingy. Next time I'd do 2 small ones tho.

Will enjoy the leftovers however - the A&C chickens were gorgeous

I once got two large chickens so that I'd have loads of left overs. My helpful friend helped me clear the table and threw the lot in the bin.
