Recommendations for adults lunch bag please

Sorry, not sure if this is the best topic to post this in but wasn’t sure where to put it 🤷‍♀️
I’m after recommendations for a large lunchbag for an adult (female if relevant). I am trying to move away from single use plastic bags and bottles but trying to fit my lunch, in various sistema style tubs and with a travel coffee cup and thermos drinks bottle, is becoming near enough impossible! Usually I may have a soup in a mug or pasta salad in a tub, chopped up fruit in another tub. I mix greek yogurt with flavouring and that is in another tub, plus previously mentioned travel coffee cup and either a thermos bottle or breville blender bottle for my homemade smoothie means my bag is literally bursting at the seams!
Any lunch bag suggestions that can fit all my tubs etc please?

What about buying one of the mini hessian tote bags, smaller than the massive ones, but hopefully flexible enough to be able to chuck most things into it.

That does sound like a pretty major quantity of stuff though - you're taking three tubs, a cup and two bottles - that's always going to be a massive amount to cart round!

NuffSaidSam · 29/06/2025 17:10

Do you want a cool bag lunch bag type thing? Or just a bag that can fit all that stuff? It sounds like you need a backpack or a small suitcase!

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 29/06/2025 17:11

Could you take it to work at the beginning of the week and keep it in the fridge to save you taking so much in every day?

WhatsThatComing · 29/06/2025 17:15

Mine is from Marks and Spencer’s food. It’s the same as the insulated bags you buy for your shopping, but small.

@SoImpatient80
sorry for a derail- but how have you found the breville smoothie blender? I keep almost buying it- but it has mixed reviews

You seem to have complicated lunches - could you not just take a coffee mug, a salad and apple or banana?

I think rather than trying to get your current lunch boxes into a bag you'd be better off getting a bag that has boxes specifically designed to fit in it.
Not necessarily this one but something like it.

Like the idea of this but with I’d still struggle with my bottles unfortunately

As I was tying up ny post I realised how much I am carting around lol but, in terms of food wise it’s not a lot of food just all the tubs are bulky!

I use a small, basic hessian shopping bag. Fits my lunchbox and my water bottle with space for more bits

Not to fussed about it being a cool bag to be honest, just needs to fit all my tubs lol

We have one fridge between about 30 of us so storing stuff for the week isn’t really an option unfortunately

I love it, never had a problem, it blends my smoothies and frappes with ease!

I’m not sure soup, fruit and yogurt are all that complicated a lunch are they? My office is very
rural so no opportunity to pop out for a top up drink or food etc I can make tea/coffee there, have a microwave and a fridge but that’s it. I leave my house at 7.45 and get home around 6 so need to have everything I need with me.

If you can sew (or get a friend to do it) these hold an immense amount of stuff. And they're really pretty. I've made loads.

I love those thank you! I am a terrible sewer unfortunately but an ex colleague who has recently retired is always looking for a new crafting job project!

They are really good, I’ve used it for loads of overflow stuff lol.
I’m the same when I’m out, I have to have plenty of snacks and drinks or I end up spending £10 in M&S at the train station on my way home.

It's just rectangles of fabric, hopefully she'd make it for you. You can fit so much in them, but they don't look huge.

Enko · 29/06/2025 18:50

I use a Tote bag that holds similar to yours op. Inside it for cool stuff I have a insulated bag similar to the M&S one shown.above.

I have found that works best. I also have a tiffin type set up I use at times https://amzn.eu/d/55rwKJL similar to this but mine is all plastic for cool stuff.

And a hot insulated tub for wheb I want warm stuff.

Tidypidy · 29/06/2025 20:07

TKMaxx usually has a good selection of lunch bags. Might be worth a look. I just use my children’s old lunch bags that they are now too trendy for!

SoImpatient80 · 30/06/2025 06:56

I think the bottles are the main issue, so maybe I need a bag with pockets on the side so my many tubs can fit easily in side!

I would search for a small picnic cool bag rather than a lunch bag - you’ll find plenty that are big enough.
