Has anyone tried it?

I do like experimentation but firstly I have never heard of a pasta sauce containing a far eastern paste in it, is this a thing?

Secondly how would you make cookies (or biscuits as they are better known) from it anyway and would they be any good?

I wont ask AI.

Gochugang - yes I’ve used it to make pasta sauce and cookies are a very popular way to use it Gochugang) I think one of the New York Times most popular ever recipe iirc

Its a very mild heat so the paste is really useful in a lot of recipes

It’s not a pasta sauce it was gochujang he was going to use to turn into a pasta sauce

But yes the Advert gives me the ick too Grin

Yep, that is one bloody annoying advert. I didn't realise he was saying gochujang. I thought he was saying "go to John" pasta sauce.

Oh, the 'parrstasarrce' ad...

Grim.

Tidypidy · 27/06/2025 18:36

Just be careful with gochujang as it varies in heat. Some are mild whilst others are very hot! Cheapest place to buy it is either Asian supermarket or Amazon.

Can't help wondering how many people in the UK have even heard of it.

Oh so the whole pan in the advert is the gochujang on its own?

Thats a lot of paste to add into a pasta sauce then.

I very much like sweet and savoury and spicy and salty together so has anyone got a recipe, there one I need an account for, that might be the NYT site I think.

It’s such an annoying ad. Doesn’t he need flour? In a lot of ways the ad is saying that viewers are inferior because they’ve never heard of one of the ingredients. Yuck

PullTheBricksDown · 27/06/2025 18:42

And cookies are all very well, but he's still got no dinner if the intention was to make pasta sauce to eat with, presumably, pasta..

Thats what went wrong, the sugar
