It’s probably too much for today, but for the future, The Salad Lab on Instagram has amazing salad recipes.

Not being snarky but this question is often asked - use the search feature and you’ll reveal a plethora of delicious recipes

Coastal calm, I think the op is probably looking for tried and tested recipes from fellow mumsnetters which is what this forum is good for.

You’re missing the Mumsnet Massive Salad. 😉 No idea what’s in it but get the impression it’s actually very little!

One of our family favourites is a garlicky tomato salad. It’s loads of little tomatoes - mini plum, cherry, the different coloured ones etc, for lots of shape/colour - masses of crushed garlic, virgin olive oil, chopped and de-seeded chilli, shredded basil leaves or a bit of pesto and a squeeze of lime.

With this, you can’t have too many tomatoes or too much garlic and it goes down a treat every time.

Have sometimes done the same - minus the basil - but substituted mangoes, chopped really small, for the tomato and added some chopped avocado.

Tabbouleh

im also a lover of a very plain tomato salad - sliced ripe toms, basil leaves, vinaigrette

fixingmylife · 28/06/2025 10:53

I make a tomato salad by skinning the tomatoes then slice with lemon juice, a little sugar and decent olive oil and salt pepper to taste. It's delicious and goes with lots of dishes.

GrimDamnFanjo · 28/06/2025 10:53

Tabbouleh? Couscous salads?

martinisforeveryone · 28/06/2025 11:07

Love Tabbouleh and most grain or pulse type salads and a classic Greek Salad. Also anything tomato based as above or with very finely shaved pink onion and a mustard or onion seed vinegrette.

Have also made this

and made this last week too, but didn't follow the recipe slavishly. It's on his instagram but I can't seem to copy the link this time for some reason.
Recipe image hopefully to follow.
