I have just made goats cheese for the second time this week I made a mixture of paprika, chilli salt and cumin to roll it in and it is really tasty

And with the whey that was left over I made brown yeast bread.

And I also just made pineapple and pepper chutney

As you were......

Well done Did it take you long?

Carmenere · 23/05/2008 16:12

Takes about 5 mins to prepare the cheese and you have to drain it for a few hours. I did the other whilst waiting for the cheese to drain. so a couple of hours in total with several breaks for mning.

Right that's it, you've convinced me, I'm off to the shops to buy wine. and maybe some salmon to blacken with cajun spices to go with the chutney

i hate domestic goddess types. they make me feel all inadequate and slack.

can i come round for supper please?

wasabipeanut · 23/05/2008 16:25

Nigella, I've just eaten an Easter Egg for lunch if it makes you feel any better?

JodieG1 · 23/05/2008 16:43

It does all sound delicious

Carmenere · 23/05/2008 17:23

It is steam that makes the crust of the bread crunchy so what I do is whilst I am pre-heating the oven I stick a roasting tray into it and allow it to get ridiculously hot and then when I am putting the bread in I pour a pint of water into it and quickly shut the oven door as this gives it a quick steam bath iyswim.
