Broccoli and Stilton soup too salty help!

Trying to make lots of soups for my dad. I've used two potatoes, broccoli and onion and one leek. Veg stock, garlic, salt and pepper. I've added some milk but it's become too runny and tastes salty. Any advice to correct it?

Put a raw potato into it (whole) and cook for a while. Should help a bit. Otherwise cook it back down again to thicken and add cream instead.

Or divide into two and add more of all the other ingredients to dilute it.

Add more brochures and potato. Just cook the separately and add them in. If it’s still too salty, just remove some liquid and replace with water

Sorry should have been clearer - you remove the whole potato after cooking it for a while. Apparently it will soak up some of the salt.

But the easiest way is probably just to add more ingredients to dilute the salt.

You could grate it in if you want it to cook more quickly - it will thicken the soup as well.

Take a third of the soup out, blend it with a hand blender and then add back in. Stir together well and that should thicken it somewhat

Make it into cookies.

Oh yes that's a good point!

Hope it worked out for you @Totallybannanas.

Add more brochures and potato

Personally, I wouldn't add brochures! I too was going to suggest a potato.

Haha I didn't even catch that.

Stock is very salty. You don't need to add salt if you are using stock. To fix it now add more potatoes and broccoli.

More potatoes. No salt or pepper (until the end once you have tasted it) I would also forgo the garlic and brown the onions in a little butter before adding everything else.
