I have just made my 1st ever madeira cake but.........

after adding the 2nd egg the mixture looked curdled, and carried on looking curdled until the flower was added.

Is this normal?

Yes this happens to my cake mixture too, don't worry it should be fine

In future add 1 egg for every tablespoon of flour this helps stop curdling
