How do you cook your gammon?

DS has requested a gammon roast today, he’s knee deep in exams so I’m happy to oblige.

I don’t know how to cook a gammon though or what to serve it with really, I was thinking mash and veggies. I’m off to the shops when they open so can buy whatever’s needed.

Can anyone help please?

We boiled ours for around 20 mins per pound then covered in marmalade and bake for 25 mins

Slow cooked mine in prune juice spiced with star anise, cloves and cinnamon , finished off with a quick roast to crisp up the fat and coated it in a mix of black treacle qnd orange marmalade. It was delicious and all done in the airfryer.

I leave mine in the fridge in cold water to pull out salt and nitrates. I boiled mine for an hour (as advised) with lemon onion. Cinnamon stick and all spice. Finished in air fryer with
mustard and maple syrup. The best ham ever I’m told

I can’t get on board with gravy on gammon. I fully cook in water or coke, take off the rind and spread with mustard and press in Demerara sugar and then a quick blast in the oven to brown the glaze. I serve with leeks/cauliflower cheese and either roast or baked potatoes or bubble and squeak if I have the leftovers.
