Having some friends over next weekend and I am planning on chorizo in red wine, prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken in white wine/cream, chickpea and stewed tomatoes, fritatta and patatas bravas.
I only have one day to prepare so want quick and easy or prepare and freeze in advance. I have around 15 to feed, what else can I do?

Tbh that sounds enough, although I would add some bruschetta (quick and easy) and a big Spanish tortilla.

Sounds delish, how about calamari with lemon mayo and some seranno ham with that lovely thick white asparagus that comes in jars/tins?

Pan con tomate is one of my altime favourite things, it is from Catalonia and is basically thick slices of country bread grilled and then rubbed with a clove of garlic and then rubbed with half a ripe tomato and drizzled with olive oil and a good sprinkling of sea salt and black pepper

i think a green vegetable would be nice, i have had something nice with beans. or russian salad? or just normal asparagus roasted, since it is in season.

fishie · 19/05/2008 20:51

this sort of thing but i am sure you could find a better recipe.

houmous, olives, pitta bread, tzatziki, roasted nuts (roast them in oven and shake them up in a bag with paprika- almonds are the best), rocket with parmesan, chickpeas and feta salad and falafel

Thing that's missing most for me arereally fresh tastes, things that will cut through the other stuff. So, green salad, roasted peppers in garlicky olive oil, Could try using some of your tom sauce for the chickpeas on french beans instead. just blanch them first. Or you could try an Imam Bayaldi style equivalent with aubergines mezze style. Tabouleh, with tons of fresh mints, coriander and parsley?

Sounds fab, love tapas/mezze. Another vote for torillta and I love parma ham or similar ...
