12th of this month? Of course. They are fine for ages past the date, and you will notice if an egg has gone off.

Crack one into a frying pan. You’ll soon find out!

But yes unless it was obviously off I would.

SummertimeFeelingFine · 14/05/2025 11:41

Yes. You can eat eggs weeks if not months after the date.

Ygfrhj · 14/05/2025 11:42

You'll know when an egg has gone off!

Older eggs don't poach nicely though.

Assuming you mean 12th May 🤪 Should be absolutely fine. If in doubt, do the float test with a jug of water - if they sink to the bottom they should be fine. If they float, chuck ‘em!

SoScarletItWas · 14/05/2025 11:42

Put it in water. If it sinks, it’s fine. If it floats, it’s gone bad.

Alternatively crack one, you’ll know if it smells nasty.

But I’d say yes, it’s barely two days.

Yes May! Thank you! I’m scrambling and just gonna go straight for it!

Even if they float they're still fine to eat. Just means they're not fresh.

AdaColeman · 14/05/2025 11:46

Yes, they will be fine to use. Eggs last at least a couple of weeks past their use by date. Don't poach them though, only use fresh eggs for poaching.
