Hello!

I've been enjoying flavoured syrups in my coffees out and about for a while so thought I'd try them at home.

I have an M&S one but it's sugar free so has that not too nice aftertaste.

The Monin one (which I believe they use in the cafés) is barely detectable.

Any tips on good ones I should try, or how else to replicate that flavour at home?

We use Sweetbird Syrups in our cafe and use a tablespoonful per coffee. Maybe you’re not putting enough in?

yes I find the suger free ones leave a nasty aftertaste and I'm usually fine with sweetners, so always looking for ideas. I found a caramel one that I like, but its been hard to get hold off. Its very thick and I find you need to add it to hot coffee. I drink mostly iced coffee you see.

I like the Simply Sugar Free Syrups, you can get them via Amazon. Every flavour you can think of. I like Salted Caramel and Black Forest the best but I have a few of them. You can get 200ml or 1l which is handy.

Op says she does like M&S , the Simply sugar free have exactly the same ingredients.
There is a reason TK Maxx and Homesense are full of sugar free coffee syrups, they all taste horrible

*does not

Oh my gosh a tablespoon? That seems a lot, I was trying to avoid too many calories 😅 and this sounds worse than sugar. The bottle isn't very big so it wouldn't last long either. Oh well maybe I'll keep to an occasional treat rather than every day.

Have you tried beanies coffee? I really like them and it's very low calories till you add whatever sweetener, sugar or milk you normally would add

ThirdStorm · 13/05/2025 15:43

I really like the sugar free simply syrups and don't get the after taste you both @musicalfrog and @bruffin speak of. I didn't realise M&S are the same. I only use a teaspoon. I hope you find something suitable.

karmakameleon · 13/05/2025 15:45

I think the Monin ones are the best but you do need to be reasonably generous.
