DH keeps bringing bananas home from work. The kids have gone off them, I've been chucking them in the freezer. Just tidied it today and realised I now have half a draw of black bananas 🙄. Help me please! Preferable child friendly sweet treats.

No Idea about what you can cook but as an avid gardener I would be making banana fertiliser for my roses and other flowering plants.

Pancakes? Smoothies?

The problem with bananas is that as soon as they are added to something the flavour takes over.

Or chop them up and whizz in the blender with milk and a dollop of vanilla ice cream for banana milkshake.

Flapjacks

Add them to porridge

Flambé them and serve with ice cream.

Whizz them up into a smoothie with other fruit and some yogurt and put into ice lolly moulds and freeze for the kids.

Peanut butter and banana sandwiches or on toast....just try it!

Mash them into breakfast berry muffins.

I make banana ice cream with them

Milkshake, perfect for the hot weather - frozen blueberries, black banana, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla (plus something to sweeten if you need that), and whatever milk you use. Blueberries are pretty good at balancing the banana flavour.

I make frappe style iced coffee with them makes them really thick and as coffee is a strong flavour it only sweetens them rather than tasting of banana

I am sending you my favourite ice cream recipe which is healthy, easy and delicious. It is from a family cookbook called „ what Mummy makes“

CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA ICE CREAM

Ingredients:
4 ripe bananas ( about 600 grams), peeled, chopped and frozen.
100 gram smooth peanut butter.
60 gram unsweetened cocoa powder.
130 ml full fat milk or unsweetened soy.

Add all ingredients to a powerful food processor and blend until smooth. Either serve straight away, or transfer to a container and freeze for up to 3 months

it serves 3 adults and 3 little.

I replace half of peanut butter by almond butter to make it a bit more nutritious.

Fry them in butter and a small spoonful of brown sugar, and finish it off with rum. Serve with cream or ice-cream.
