I'm happy to buy them or make them.

I want moist, gooey, oaty, textured, dark, delicious flapjacks. Probably something with treacle in, and possibly condensed milk. And sultanas, or maybe figs or dates.

Please give me a recommendation or a recipe.

Whatever recipe you use the CRUCIAL things are:

Cook on a really low temperature - I do mine at around 140C, if the mix bubbles it goes chewy.

And whatever you do, don't overcook, they shouldn't go golden brown or you've overdone it, just a pale, pale biscuit colour is enough, and they shouldn't be set when you take them out of the oven, they can still be completely wobbly and will set as they cool.

The Green and Blacks cookbook has a fab recipe for chocolate flapjacks and you can just leave out the choc, and maybe add some grated apple and or raisins. Yum, yum. Don't have it to hand right now, but can look it out in a minuge.

sorry, did promise my recipe but seem to have mislaid it at the moment! But I bet you could google a good one quite easily if you don't have one.

Hope they turn out yummy.

I made this one yesterday, turned out yummy!

2 eating apples
175gms butter
175g demera sugar
2tbsps golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
50g sultanas
225g porrige oats
2tbsp sunflower seeds

Heat oven 160c/325f/gas mark 3
Grease parchment paper and fill a tin (18cmx27cm-I shoved mine in any old tin )
Cut and peel apple, cut them into small chunks
Put apple in pan with 25g of the butter, cover over a low heat until apple is soft(10mins roughly)
Add rest of butter, with sugar, syrup, cinnamon and sultanas.
Heat the mixture gently until butter has melted and then take the pan off the heat.
Stir in oats and add seeds.Spoon mixture into tin and bake in middle of oven for 25mins.
Leave to cool for 10mins and cut and scoff!
