Where are all the legs of lamb??

Usually at this time of year I treat the family (my mum and dad included) to a nice lamb roast. I can only afford it when it’s half price. I can’t see any half price anywhere!! What’s going on?? I’m sure it usually is half price near Easter!

Much of the lamb we eat in the UK comes from New Zealand.

I received an accidental joint of lamb in my Asda delivery today, must have fell out of someone else's tray into mine 😃.

(Before you pile on, I would have handed it back to the driver but wasn't in at the time. I always do the ordering and DH deals with the delivery so he had no idea it was it mistake until he asked what day we were having lamb when I got home from work as that wasnt on this weeks meal plan!)

I suspect it’s rather less that, given that the highest proportion of Muslims in the U.K. is in Tower Hamlets and that’s 39.9% - so it would feel pretty high to her if that’s where she lives, but quite a way behind nearly 100%.

But as another poster has pointed out to you, if she’s in an area with high lamb demand she should be faced with more lamb supply as well. Tower Hamlets isn’t exactly well represented with supermarkets though - a lot of groceries come from smaller shops. Have you considered helping her with an online shop so she could get lamb delivered from a big supermarket chain if that’s where she’s most comfortable buying it?

My Mum has been complaining about the scarcity of legs of lamb for years. Main culprit is demographic change. One group eat a hell of a lot of lamb.
