Does anyone know a good vegan cheese? I eat an almost vegan diet apart from cheese, because I have yet to taste any nice vegan cheese.

None taste like cheese. The smoked cheese are the best. That said, I recommend not eating ANY cheese for several months before eating vegan cheese again. They taste better if you can't remember real cheese.

Cathedral city plant based is very good.

Cathedral city cheddar
violife feta
la fauxmagerie if you can find it in Waitrose or order online as they only do a couple in Waitrose - it's amazing but £££

The only nice one I’ve found is Aldi mild, tastes creamy and not that horrible taste most of them have

Not much help but I've tried a fair few, including some expensive "artisan" ones from a proper cheese shop. They've all tasted vile imo, including when cooked. Hopefully someone will come along with a revelation!

I can't stand the smell of some of them, especially violife. Cathedral city plant cheese is the best out of them imo

Violife white is a good starting point. It’s nice crumbled in a salad and on pasta. The texture is pretty good.

ShaunaSadeki · 13/04/2025 17:42

The only way is to stop eating cheese for a couple of months, then it is bearable. Real cheese actually smells like sick to me now.

La Fauxmangerie is lovely but expensive, Violife is inoffensive, Cathedral City is nice and strong. Violife or Lidl feta is also good.

CherryRipe1 · 13/04/2025 17:43

Another vote for Cathedral city vegan cheddar. Violife is ok too. The Aldi one makes me nauseous.

Forgottenmyphone · 13/04/2025 18:03

Another vote for Violife, but only their ‘original’ and the Greek cheese, not the cream cheese - Philadelphia plant-based is the best for that.
