I often get a rotisery chicken (for the meat eaters) and some nice cheese (for the veggies) and then a big loaf of crusty bread, lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, pickles, humus, various chutneys etc

It's gotten a bit samey. What does yours look like?

At the moment I like a salad with sweetcorn, red onion, spring onion, flat leaf parsley and a bit of chilli and I’m enjoying garlic bread for a change

Chorizo, olives, salad, fruit, cheeses, cold cuts of various meats. Sometimes we go absolutely wild and even throw in a big bowl of scampi!!

Olives, salami, smoked mackerel or salmon pate, layers of sliced tomato and red onion with mozzarella and fresh basil, drizzled with balsamic and olive oil, spicy cous cous with dried fruit and pomegranate seeds, and maybe a handful of dates, pecans, or peppadew hot peppers.

I make a ham from a gammon, homemade sweet pickled cucumbers with dill or sometimes I pickle other veggies, pickled herring (I like pickled stuff can you tell), rye bread, smoked salmon or gravdlax, prawns with lemon quarters and majonaise.

Warm buttery new potatoes with parsley and chives
hard boiled eggs
quiche
beetroot salad (beetroot, red onions, vinegar, sugar)

My favourite salad at the moment is rocket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar sprinkled with parmesan shavings. How about a quiche or omelette as a change from the chicken & cheese?

Ooh I love a nice salad . Current favourite is little gem lettuce, grated carrot, red onion, chopped red apple and crumbled stilton cheese. It's the combo of sweet and savoury that hits the spot for me.

We do flat breads with steak/chicken/lamb. Then either a homemade coleslaw or a salad dressed in olive oil and white balsamic, depending on the marinade. Olives and avocado are a must and the rest is whatever is left in the fridge!

We marinate the chicken and then match the sides, so tandoori chicken might get naan, kachumber salad, and Indian chickpea salad and a grated carrot and nigella seed salad. Lime pickle, mango chutney, raita on the side.
Or we might use chipotle to marinate the chicken and serve with a bean salad, a sweet corn, pepper, and feta salad, a green salad, tortilla chips, pickled red onions, salsa and guacamole.
Just gives a bit more of a theme to build around

I’ve started doing a fridge salad lunch when I’m wfh. Have some supermarket couscous, coleslaw, chopped cucumber, beetroot, gherkins, pickled sliced onion, cheddar cheese and a boiled egg or sliced ham (depending on which I’ve batch prepped for kids’ lunchboxes for the week). Everything is already in a jar or a packet in fridge so it’s literally a quick assemble on plate and done!
