Filling, meaty meals- new ideas needed?

We have a friend who visits a few times a year and stays overnight due to distance. DH and I are competent cooks but looking for new ideas. Our friend is 6ft 7 and although not overweight, will easy eat double DH and myself. We normally do a self-serve meal. Previous things have included BBQ ribs with salads, peri peri chicken and salads, fajitas, roast with sides etc. Looking for other ideas, ideally BBQ, but anything filling and not too much prep.

Not BBQ, but should be on offer right now - lamb shoulder. We have it slow roasted with middle eastern inspired spices, then served with (homemade) Flatbread, green salad, and scattered with pomegranate seeds.

Similar theme: pulled pork or swarma chicken thighs.

@GoatCatTaco I have leg of lamb but hadn't thought of a slow roasted shoulder, thank you.

Lamb tagine served with plenty of couscous!
Navarin of lamb served with new potatoes.
Meatballs and pasta.
Sounds as though your hungry guest needs some carbs to fill them up!

@AdaColeman Thank you. Tagine is a good idea too.

The double serves of any main, plus a double serve of dessert is always after we've already offered a multitude of canape/snacky things available beforehand which have been emptied!

Hummus/dips with carrots/celery batons and French stick, coated peanuts, dolmades, mini quiche type canapes, crisps etc. Mains always have an array of carbs too from potato, sweet potato, various breads, multiple vegetables, salads with seeds and nuts . I've never met an adult that can eat like this guy!

What about pork in a slow cooker? BBQ sauce, shred it and have it with loads of sides. Fairly cheap too if you use a shoulder

How about a big mixed grill ? Lots of meats ,pork chop, lamb chop, bit of steak, gammon, sausages, black pudding then add fried eggs, mushrooms tomatoes fried bread etc

Pork tenderloin fillet, cut into rounds, turn in pan with butter and oil until cooked through (4/5 mins). Add large carton of crème fraiche, (half fat works too) season with salt and pepper, ready when begins to bubble. Serve with rice/tagliatelle or mash and green beans. 10 mins, job done.

Thank you. I wasn't thinking a complete meat feast, but ideas on what else to fill our friend up. We will be serving meat/veg anyways, but maybe there are other, filling sides I haven't though of?

Perhaps give him a first course of a thick hearty soup such as minestrone with plenty of beans and pasta included, served with bread.
Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy would be a filling side dish, if it went with the main dish, not the individual type but the more stodgy large home made version to be sliced.
Macaroni cheese would be another filling side dish to serve him.

My OH is very much like this he loves chilli con carne made with a combination of diced and minced beef. Obviously not BBQ but I do it in the slow cooker and is easy to throw together. Not the most exciting of meals for most people (although everyone I've made it for raves about it) but easily bulked out to a feast with rice/jackets, tortilla chips, sour cream, cheese, guacamole etc.
For BBQ I'd do a spatchcocked tandoori chicken, lamb chops/steaks and maybe some koftas with salads, flatbreads and a curried potato salad, mini poppadoms etc.

What about a tray bake? Chicken and chorizo with peppers, red onion, courgettes, sweet potatoes. If you need to add sides something like an orzo based salad would be filling.
if you want bbq ideas marinate chunks of chicken breast in honey and mustard and skewer, interspersing the chicken with chopped sausage and red onion.
Chicken breasts stuffed with garlic butter and wrapped in prosciutto.

Update:
Thank you so much for all he great ideas. I'd planned to buy a leg of lamb today, but none in the 2 shops I went into. So we are having a BBQ with bit of a mix match of things:

-Burgers
-Coleslaw
-Orzo pasta salad
-Baked potatoes
-Halloumi
-Cheese stuffed mini peppers
-Corn on the cob
-Chicken satay skewers
-Kofte
-Courgette ribbons in a lemon/garlic sauce

Dessert is pecan pie with berries and cheese platter. The pie liquid leaked out, but I'm sure it will still be yummy. I normally give our friend a take-away box, so despite there just being 3 adults, it will all get eaten.
