Making own yogurt and freezing it for a treat

Thinking of buying a yogurt maker as ds goes through a lot! I would like to know if anyone has ever made their own and froze it for a treat like ice cream? Is there any issues with it separating etc? Might add that ds has just found out there is something called ice cream and I would rather him have frozen yogurt!

a treat = a bag of Minstrels or a trip to Mc Ds

frozen yogurt is a penance, surely

I take it you don't like it! No, he gets his chocolates and other sweets, but I only buy ice cream once in a blue moon so thought I could "fake" it with a bit of yogurt.

I make my own yogurt - v easy and cheap, and we get thro' a lot in our house. I've got EasyYo (no elec needed), but don't bother with their satchets. Instead use a spoonful of the leftover yogurt and it works fine. Also add a couple of spoons of powdered milk, which is supposed to make it thicker. I'm not convinced it works - so I won't bother buying any more once I've got through this box. I tend to hang it from a tied up muslin to thicken it.
Also bought an icecream maker, in a bid to get ds to eat more fruit. Thought I'd disguise fruit in it, but it doesn't really work. The icecream is lovely tho' and there were lots of frozen yogurt recipes in the book that came with the machine!
