Peel-less hot crossed buns

Hi

I'm going abroad to see a relative who has asked for hot crossed buns, no peel.

I wonder if anyone knows of any brands that do them like this? I've had a look around online and can't find any. I know it's pretty much part of the point of them anyway, but I'd like to be able to say I did my best to find some.

Ta

There are all sorts of sacrilegious hot cross bun variants that aren’t the normal hot cross bun flavour - apple and cinnamon, salted flipping caramel, triple berry etc. I wildly disapprove of them on principle even though I’m sure they’re very nice to eat. But they might be the right sort of thing for your relative? Either that or take them ones with peel in because it’s ridiculous to complain about it :-)

I hate peel too. Tesco hot cross buns are lovely - the ones made daily in the bakery section. Having said that, I haven't found them yet this year.

That was something I had considered, but she says she hasn't had hot crossed buns for decades (weird, there are other family who visit) and really wants them.

I might buy a selection.

I agree with you though, I loathe the chocolate or orange and cinnamon ones (etc). But then, I don't mind peel. And I've tended to find that I prefer the cheapest ones too!

Agree it is a mad thing to complain about as an adult.
