Split pea soup - vegan recipe?

Does anyone have a vegan split pea soup recipe? I love ham and pea soup when I have it, but have never made one at home successfully.

It needs to be vegetarian and suitable for someone with a dairy allergy, if I’m making it at home. I’ve got split peas and vegan Bouillon, but not sure what else to add and quantities.

I would just follow a standard split pea soup recipe, but omit the ham. The one below looks close to what I’d do. The ham hock cooking in the soup will add salt and fat, so I would just make sure you check the seasoning as you go as you’ll likely need to add extra salt and I’d personally add some extra fat (butter, but you could use whatever dairy free option you prefer).

Thanks, I’ll try that - maybe frying the veg in dairy free margarine rather than oil would help?

Yes, you would use dairy free margarine. I'd also season with white pepper, not black, as it will give the soup a nice kick and depth of flavour.
