Help help! I need to cook a roast in an hour and a half but the roast chicken I took out from the freezer 24 hours ago and put in the fridge is still frozen…I currently have it in a big bowl of cold water. Any other tips? Thanks

Put it in a shallow bowl under slightly warm running water.

A frozen chicken sitting in water will cool the water before the water has a chance to warm up the chicken.

The other option is to do a quick dash to the local supermarket x

I’d sit it covered in cold water and change the water regularly like every 20/30 mins but given you need to cook in an hour and half I’m not sure that would be defrosted all the way through in time. I wouldn’t use warm or hot water just because it encourages bacteria to grow and again may defrost uneven. I’d be tempted to just go to the shop for another and use the defrosting one tomorrow or day after.
