Lasagna what's your top layer?

Cheese sauce

Bechamel sauce then a layer of grated parmesan on top to go crispy.

Top layer is pasta, cheese sauce, grated cheese.

(I make veggie lasagna and I use cheese sauce on all layers, not just a béchamel).

Pasta, ragu, white sauce, cheese. So it's the same as the order of all the other layers except for having cheese on top.

So pasta, ragu, white sauce. Repeat til there's 6 of each, top with cheese.

Final layer of ragu, layer of pasta topped with bechamel then grated parmigiana, oregano and black pepper.

A - on my veggie lasagna but used to do it the same way pre veggie.

are you saying you know people who do ragu, then just put béchamel straight on top then add cheese?

I will admit I often put cheese in the béchamel so it's more of a cheese sauce

Do people put cheese sauce in lasagne?

Pasta then cheese sauce and cheese for the final layer. I find that if I put another layer of ragu directly under the cheese sauce it can "bleed" into it - which tastes OK but doesn't look so good aesthetically imo.

Veggie lasagna - cheese sauce for the extra protein and flavour
Meat lasagna - bechamel
Either way I grate parmesan and/or cheddar on top

It's not lasagne without cheese though, which is a key ingredient.

Top layer - pasta, bechamel, grated cheese and maybe a few pieces of thinly sliced tomato if I can be bothered.

Pasta, bechamel, then a mix of grated Parmesan, cheddar and a sprinkle of breadcrumbs (not a thick layer just a sprinkle for extra crunchy bits).

Bechamel cheese sauce with a sprinkle of breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese for a crunchy top.

I only cook veggie lasagna as despite being a meat eater, I don't like beef lasagna.
