looking for recommendations for nice restaurants in the Didsbury area of Manchester please.

I have friends in Didsbury and when I visit
Manchester for work my gang often end up there for a meal.

We may be boring but we like the modern British food: Hispi, The Lime Tree and No 4.

Hispi and The Lime Tree can have excellent food, it is reliably very good and the ambience is good. The cooking at No 4 is a bit less accomplished but almost always good and often very good. However, everything about the place is such that by now my cares melt away as I walk through the door. Attentive, understatedly friendly staff, warmly decorated mews house, etc. Sometimes I fantasise about moving to Manchester if only to become a regular, but this is probably extreme.

Lime tree. Sadly Greens is gone

In the end we got here so late we just had room service in our room. Twas lovely though! Next time...
