the cod ones are better

Piffle · 08/05/2008 14:37

only bighams are any good imho.
but then for the price you could just about pay for someone to come and cook it for you from fresh.

NappiesGalore · 08/05/2008 14:39

used to live on them
went off them in first pgcy
now cannot stand them.
yuk!

I like M&S stuff tbh, very rarely have it but sometimes I get their veggie stuff (veg mousaka etc)

their fishcakes are nice iirc not had them for years

Gobbledigook · 08/05/2008 14:49

Yep.

Although sainsbos do some nice meatballs in a tomato sauce - they are OK for a lazy evening.

Otherwise we dont' buy them.

Couldn't contemplate like a pasta dish or cottage pie or anything

MrsBadger · 08/05/2008 14:49

they are only good for things I couldn't / wouldn;t make myself

eg steak and kidney pudding

Bridie3 · 08/05/2008 14:58

I like most of Waitrose's readies.

But they're pricey. Jacket potatoes and eggs are my mid-week standbys now we're trying to economise. And lots of pasta with grated cheese or ham for the children.

madeindevon2 · 15/05/2008 10:41

i prefer home cooked stuff. but if you work 60 hr weeks and hate cooking sometimes you just have to lump it or go hungry....

Tutter · 15/05/2008 10:42

i use COOK a lot

a lot

maybe once a week

but i don't get out much atm

so can justify the £££

plus they are delicious

BroccoliSpears · 15/05/2008 11:01

I agree.

I bought some Sainsbos ready made pasta sauces - fresh, Taste The Difference, thinking it might be useful while we're a bit hectic following the birth of DS.

Yuk.

I don't know what they taste of, but there's some synthetic, processed flavour in there.

noddyholder · 15/05/2008 11:03

m an s ok in an emergency but generally they all taste the same and so expensive compared to DIY.Do people actually buy them as meals or just as an emergency thing?
