Chilli con carne help

I bought a bell pepper for my CCC instead of a chilli pepper. Anything I can do, please?

Isn’t that ok? The BBC Good Food website has a lovely classic Chilli Con Carne recipe and the bell pepper is key.

I’d chop it up small and bung it in with some chilli powder or chilli flakes.

It's fine...add it. If you want spice, use chilli powder or flakes if you have them.

Put the bell pepper in, definitely. What dried spices do you have for heat? Dried chili powder, flakes, black pepper?

I’d add chilli powder, smoked paprika, cumin, ground coriander, a bit of cocoa powder, a drizzle of honey (unless you have molasses) and salt and pepper, and crumble in a stock cube.

I use bell pepper in chilli and then add chilli powder, ground cumin and ground coriander. DH then adds chilli flakes on his portion as he wants extra heat

I put bell pepper in my chilli anyway - along with mushrooms or aubergines or courgettes or all of them - whatever’s in the fridge. What do you have for heat?

I usually put a bell pepper in chilli, and some sweetcorn!

For spice, I add chilli powder (chipotle if I have it), chilli flakes, cayenne, smoked paprika, and chipotle in adobo sauce (ordered online).

I use this recipe (which is pulled pork, but also use it for minced beef on the hob). Its delicious and smokey. I usually omit the fresh chilli and it's fine without.
