Baking dish / roasting dish

Not entirely sure if this is the right place for this question, but here goes. I usually make things like fish pie, parmigiana, lasagne etc in a ceramic baking dish. I want to have a big cook up today and want to make more of these than I have baking dishes. Does it make any difference if I use a metallic roasting pan?

Do you put a pastry bottom in your pies? Metal heats up faster than ceramic, and the pastry cooks faster.

@KnickerlessParsons nope, no bases. So without bases, do you think it makes much difference?

I use aluminium pans for large bake ups.
I like to line them with greased paper.

If the bases are likely to burn, you can sit them on a water filled biscuit oven tray (larger flat with small raised edges) or on some pieces of damp newspaper.

No, I wouldn't think so.
