Freezing after reheating?

Oh wise people of Mumsnet!

Had a big dinner yesterday and overestimated the meat that would be eaten. The meat was cooked on Friday, reheated and (some of it) eaten on Saturday.

Can I freeze the leftover for pies and dinners or does it all need to be eaten cold now given that it's been reheated once?

Meat is turkey / beef / ham, all well cooked and tasty!

Did you reheat all of it and only eat some?

I would happily freeze after the first cooking but not after reheating it again since you’ve then got to defrost it and then reheat it again to eat it.

Thank you for replying so quickly. That's what my gut was telling me too. I'll keep the reheated bits for sandwiches to eat over next few days and freeze anything that wasn't reheated.

If you've only reheated it to warm then I wouldn't freeze it again. If it was effectively cooked again then I'd freeze it no problem - it might not be great texture but it would be safe.

You could make up a pie filling or something saucy with it, so cook it through properly and then freeze that?
