Lentil shepherds pie recipe recommendations

Please would you share your favourite veggie shepherds pie recipe? I used to use Quorn mince but it upsets my gut. I love lentils in soup but haven't used them in anything else. I'm keen to w olive new recipes and increase my very small amount of safe dishes (ND). I don't eat eggs I know it's unlikely that egg would be in shepherds pie but I didn't think it would be in cheese sauce either and I'm still not over it after 6 months 🤢
It doesn't have to be lentil based. Just full of nutrients.

I do meat, but add pearl barley which I really like.
The last one I made I used up the end of the packet which turned out to be much more than I thought, so the meat / pearl barley ratio was probably around 1/4. The meat was probably superfluous.
Also add peas, carrots, gravy powder & soy sauce.

Fry onion as usual. Add lentils, make up weak bisto, add chopped carrots, simmer until lentils are cooked. Continue as usual.

I didn't use leek. Just added a normal size onion and instead of peas I used sweetcorn 😂 I didn't have leek or peas but that recipe stuck, my family enjoy it. I also use less stock but do it by eye so couldn't tell you.

Obv cottage and shep is just meat diff but as you're not having meat at all - here's a similar pie with lentil.

This is pretty much what I do too, although I don’t make the bistonweak. Sometimes I add peas too. It’s lovely. Go heavy on the gravy as the lentils keep soaking it up. Ps, use green lentils.

Quorn meat makes my guts churn too. I avoid it like the plague.

Jamie's recipe from @Mindyourfunkybusiness is excellent. You can substitute all sorts of things as well.

And have you tried your usual recipe with a non-Quorn veggie mince? The Lynda McCartney veggie mince is soya based I think, and there are others. Quorn used to be fine for me, but I can't eat it anymore either.

I was reading a magazine in a waiting room this week, its from November with a purple cover with Alison Hammond on the front, it had a fab recipe in there for a lentil type potato topped pie, with feta mixed in with the mash on top

I wish I had remembered the detail, it involved harrisa, it looked amazing

this one is super easy for mid week and really tasty, maybe not as nice as faffier ones like Delia. You could just substitute the vegan cheese fair dairy cheese

Thank you! Lots to try. I tried one tonight and I really liked it but the dc didn't 😩 Ds will try it again if I alter a few things but dd was horrified at the suggestion of me making it again.

This one is vegan but doesn't need to be. DH had a great lentil cottage pie in a hotel in the borders so I tried to emulate it!
