What are your favourite tofu recipes? Ideally fairly quick and healthy

I want to get more tofu into my diet, especially for the calcium

At the moment, we whizz silken tofu into soups which is great, and use firm tofu with mixed success in other recipes.

I'd love to eat it once or twice a week, and have a bunch of go-to recipes `I use

We also love tempeh but I think that has less calcium.

I'm loving doing more and more with tofu...and looking forward to gradually working through all of these. I'm about to make my third chocolate silken tofu mousse and we had this GORGOUS Ottolenghi recipe last week - literally the best tofu we've ever made .... though I haven't tried all of yours yet!.

Ottolenghi silken and firm with rose harissa ginger garlic

@Xiaoxiong You mentioned heating silken tofu in the microwave - How do you do it? In a bowl with clingfilm over the top? or is there an easier way? I'm going to start experimenting with these lovely sesame/spring onion/spicy simple silken tofus....

ps we only used half the amount of rose harissa and it was still nice and spicy!

Choose Tofoo over other brands of firm tofu if you can - they have significantly more protein per 100g.

I recommend firm tofoo for

  • frying and adding to salad
  • ramen noodle bowls
  • stir fry
  • curry or chicken substitue

Silken tofu is fantastic for:

Tofu bhurji, a take on an Indian paneer or egg bhurji. Basically a spiced tofu scramble. I have it with toast or with chapati if I have some.

I love 'tofoo'. It's already pressed and super quick to cook. I eat it regularly in my stir fry, curry or in a wrap.
You can find it in lots of supermarkets.

DD makes these tacos. Baking the grated tofu first gives it a chewy, almost meaty texture. We love it.

I agree that Tofoo is a much better brand than Cauldron as it doesn't need pressing.

@loveyouradvice I just scoop it into a bowl and zap it for about a minute - no need to cover! You just want to warm it up.

So easy @Xiaoxiong thank you!

And to others here - Tofoo on my next supermarket order, and DH loves Pad Thai.

Loving teh look of those tacos @RampantIvy thank you
