Was just reading popsycals post suggesting salmon, pasta and broccoli with creme fraiche, I have never actually had it, what is it like ?

it tastes like weak yogurt. Nice with strawberries.

It is like slightly tart thick cream and yes, kids normally like it.

Is it sweet then ?

Also, i presume you'd just tip it cold into the pasta, salmon and broccoli ? it won't make the creme friache go funny with the other stuff being hot ?

In savoury cooking it is lovely. Its slight sourness will perfectly offset the richness of the salmon in popsy's recipe.
I am sure its use won't put the children off the dish.

Ahhh it's tarty, x posted.

The fact that it is fermented (ie slightly soured) means it won't separate unless you boil the bejasus out of it
You can certainly stir it in and heat it through

Thanks all
